Frequently Asked Questions

  • You will fill out a health history form before or when you arrive. I will greet you and discuss your health history and clarify your goals for the treatment. Next we will go over the plan for the session and you will be given instructions for how to get ready while I leave the room. After knocking, I will return and ensure that everything is comfortable for you; temperature, lighting, music, etc. Your only concern at this point is to relax and receive your massage!

  • Most often when you arrive the door will be unlocked or open and you can come in and make yourself comfortable in the waiting area. There is tea and water available. If you arrive and find the door closed and locked - double check the time of your appointment on your confirmation or reminder email and/or text messages. If you are more than 15 minutes early for your appointment, it is likely I am still working with another client and I will open the door any minute. If it is the exact time of your appointment and no one has opened the door please call or text (617) 409-3860.

  • Many massage techniques are most effective when done on bare skin, and I will usually recommend that you undress to your comfort level if these techniques will be used. Underwear can stay on or not, depending on your preference. You will be covered by a sheet the entire time, and only the body area being worked on will be undraped at any time.

  • Please don’t let these concerns stop you from seeking out massage therapy. If you are uncomfortable with any areas being worked on, let me know. Whatever your concerns, know that I am supportive, non-judgemental, and want to find a way to help you feel comfortable receiving massage.

  • Yes! Massage therapy is safe during your entire pregnancy. Some therapists are not comfortable working with clients in the first trimester, but as long as you are comfortable and have the ok from your healthcare providers, it is perfectly safe. I have done prenatal and postpartum massage training certifications and have worked with dozens of clients through their pregnancies and beyond. I will provide the proper positioning to ensure you are comfortable during your session and use techniques that are safe and effective in treating a pregnant body. Prenatal massage can have so many benefits and can be just the self care you need during this transformative time.

  • Yes! I will check in with you here and there throughout the session, but if at any time the treatment feels uncomfortable please don’t hesitate to speak up. Alternatively if you want me to use more pressure, please ask. I promise I will not be upset by this request, and am hoping to give you the treatment you are looking for. Communication is crucial.

  • My prices are set to reflect the training and experience I have and the prices listed are the full cost, no additional tipping required. Yes, really! The best way to show your gratitude is to continue to rebook and recommend me to your friends and family!

  • I accept all major credit cards, including FSA and HSA cards, cash, checks or Venmo. You can prepay when you book your appointment, or pay in person after your massage.

  • Please provide me with a 24 hour notice of any schedule changes or cancellation requests. Please understand that when you cancel or miss your appointment without providing a 24 hour notice I am often unable to fill that appointment time. This is an inconvenience to your therapist and also means my other clients miss the chance to receive services they need. For this reason, you will be charged 100% of the service fee. Late cancellation due to emergency, illness, or inclement weather will generally not result in any missed session charges, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis. You can find all of my policies written out here.
